Tiffany & Co Master Salt Circa 1870.See the following description from a Tiffany catalog.
same pattern number as "STERLING SILVER MASTER SALTS circa 1870 early design by JC Moore. Heavy gauge silver of classic circular shape with raised fluted pattern in interior bowl. standing on three stepped point style carved legs with scroll work and floral design. Encircling the top of each cellar is a tight patern of entertwined and co-joined geometric circles centered by tiny floral buds. These matching pair of master salt cellars are 2 3/4 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches tall. Each salt cellar weighs 2.5oz each. 4.90oz for the pair. Clearly stamped with the makers mark of Tiffany& Co with the famous early scrolled old English"M" for JC Moore 1853-1869. Low patern 2344 and series numbers of 5182. Early design rarely seen and in excellent antique condition are made of heavy gauge sterling.
