Description
A lovely pair of Tiffany & Company sterling silver demitasse spoons in their Vine or Fruits & Flowers pattern which dates back to 1872. These vintage collectible spoons have the Vine & Iris Flowers design. Matching demitasse or 5 O'Clock spoons which were gotten together out of the same home, so are being sold together.Marked on the backside stems in raised letters with "Tiffany & Co" and "Sterling", with a separate, tiny capital letter "M". Both also have a three initial or capital letter monogram in a vertical script font, which looks to be "LHS".
Front sides have the raised formed vine and two Iris flowers decorating the stems, with the narrow, oval, pointed spoon bowls. Full spoons measure about 4 11/16 inches in length, with a greatest width to the spoon bowl of just under 1 inch, and a greatest width to the spoon stem at the slightly curved/indented end of a tad over 3/8 inch. These have upwardly tilted spoon bowls with a greatest height/depth of about 1/2 inch. Together these weigh 1.05 troy ounces or 32.7 grams, and will be shipped in a box for safety.
Wonderful overall condition. These are being sold as is/as found out of a home, but are not badly tarnished. They do have some light tarnishing or tarnished spotting but could be easily polished if you wish to do so. There are no cracks, chips or bends to the spoons or large flaws that we see. There are fine scratch lines likely from years of polishing (given the age) and likely other expected light wear from being handled, used, sitting on display, etc. over the years, but nothing out of the ordinary or that detracts.
Please inspect the 12 images closely using the zoom feature for details and close-up views, noting that the camera light creates white "hot spot" reflections on the smooth sterling surfaces. Half of the images were shot without the camera light. This makes them appear yellower/darker, but can help to show some of the detail & condition which the camera light "blands out".
