ANTIQUE VICTORIAN ENGLISH SILVER GRAPE SCISSORS c1856 MARTIN HALL & Co SHEFFIELD
A heavy pair of antique English, solid sterling silver grape scissors; with beautifully cast strapwork handles decorated with vine leaf and grape motifs. To the back of the blades is engraved a greyhound courant. This crest is used by many families including: Ashmole, Bryan, Christian, Cochran, Cochrane, Cope, Hunter, Murray, Nash, Nightingale, O'Farrell, Palmer, Smith, Walker, among others.

CONDITION
: All original and very good. Slight signs of wear and use, no damage or repairs.

: English hallmark for Sheffield 1856. Maker's marks RM EH (Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall).
DIMENSIONS
: Almost 6 ¾ inches long (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
WEIGHT
: Approx. 134.5 grams (4 1/3 ounces).
