Fabulous antique Belle Epoque era French sterling silver 61 piece flatware set by the silversmith Henri Soufflot. This set consists of a four piece place setting for 12 plus a serving piece. Includes 12 sterling silver dinner forks, 12 sterling silver dinner spoons, 12 dessert or luncheon forks, 12 dessert/luncheon spoons, 12 tea or coffee spoons, and a soup ladle. Featuring fiddle shaped handles decorated with strapping and elegant foliage. Monogrammed with interlaced initials CA or AC. Hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark. In use from 1838, the mark indicates a silver content of .950/1000 (95% silver and a higher grade than the standard .925 for sterling). Maker's marks for Henri Soufflot, 1884-1910 at 89 rue de Turbigo, Paris. Complete and in the original wooden chest with gorgeous red felt lined interior. Decorated with a brass handle and escutcheon cartouche with working lock and key. In overall good antique condition with general wear/surface scratches commensurate with use and age. Total silver weight is 3740.9 grams.
