Description
Presented is an antique, sterling silver punch or soup ladle of good size and weight made by Charles Kennard & Co of Boston during the late 19th century, most likely the 1870s. The top of the handle is hand engraved with a band of diamond shaped design and there are leaf and swirl accents. The back is marked Chas. W. Kennard & Co and 925 for sterling silver purity.
This piece is in great condition, especially for its age. The front of the handle has had a professional, incredibly well done monogram removal. You would never be able to tell there was a mono removal unless you are inspecting it closely. There is some wear and slight pitting to the bowl but otherwise, there are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monograms, and no repairs.
The ladle measures 12 inches long.
Weight: 215 grams or 7.6 ounces.
